Jyotiṣavimarśa: Fake Theories & Importance Of Classics

In today's era, numerous modern astrologers are engaged in authoring books to disseminate their personal theories. Internet serves as an additional platform for this purpose. Several students and learners are led astray by these erroneous theories and concepts. This undermines the esteemed discipline of Jyotiṣa. Jyotiṣa necessitates Śāstra Pramāna; without it, no assertion can be regarded as valid. Image: Tridevis - Saraswati, Parvati and Lakshmi. Source: Pinterest These tables are taken from a popular website. The correlation of Pancha Tattva with Panchanga elements is questionable and so is its utility. However, this correlation is useful to create new theories and fantasies. Kālaprakāsika and other texts express a different opinion which seems to be neglected by this Parampara Guru! In this example, Pancha Tattva are associated with the five groups of Tithīs. If Tithī is already Jala Tattva (as per few people) then why is there a need to create this subdivision? This correlation...

Jyotiṣārṇava: Vargottama & Puṣkara Navāṃśa

The scribe had posted threads on Navāṃśa which are compiled here in the fom of an article: Image: Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesha Souce: Pinterest Vargottama  Navāṃśa वर्ग (varga) in Sanskrit means 'division' while उत्तम (uttama) is 'excellent'. Thus, वर्गोत्तम ग्रह is the graha falling in excellent divisions. In the daśavarga scheme, when a graha falls in three benefic divisions, it is considered to be in uttamāṃśa. The ancient treatises consider a graha to be vargottama when the graha occupies same rāśi and navāṃśa. For instance when a graha is positioned at 2° of meṣa, it falls in meṣa navāṃśa and is considered vargottama. Bṛhat Parāśara Horā states that a graha in ucca rāśi gives fully good effects, in mūlatrikoṇa rāśi ¾th, in svarāśi ½, in mitrarāśi ¼th, in samarāśi ⅛th and null in nīca-asta-śatru rāśi. Similarly, we divide the vargottama condition into different categories. A graha in the aṃśa of śatru or astaṅgata graha is also considered to be ineffective. For instance,...

Case Study: Donald Trump

In May 2024, months before the general election, I accurately predicted Donald Trump's return to the presidency. While political pundits and polling experts debated the likely outcome, the celestial patterns in Trump's natal chart told a compelling story of electoral triumph and renewed political ascendancy. This analysis examines the key astrological indicators that pointed to Trump's victory over Kamala Harris, including significant planetary periods, and timing techniques that aligned with his presidential campaign. By studying the interplay between Trump's birth chart and the major astrological events of 2024, we can understand not only how this prediction was possible but also what the stars suggest for his upcoming presidential term. The accuracy of this May 2024 forecast demonstrates the power of traditional astrological methods when applied with precision and depth. Moving forward, this same analytical framework reveals fascinating insights about the challenges ...

Nādi Jyotiṣa: The Great Exception

The classical texts of Jyotiṣa, while establishing comprehensive principles for astrological interpretation, occasionally present nuanced exceptions that challenge conventional understanding. One such remarkable exception is documented in the Deva Keralam (the book of exceptions), a text that held particular significance for the renowned astrologer Sri C. S. Patel, who regarded it as his primary reference work. This exception not only enriches our comprehension of classical Jyotiṣa but also exemplifies how traditional texts contain subtle distinctions that can enhance the accuracy and depth of astrological analysis when properly understood and applied.
