This is an elaboration on the ‘Anaghā’ English commentary written by me on Lagna Vārāhī. This will not form a part of the published text, but is being provided as supplementary material for readers to demonstrate the classical principles. Here, only the prospect of wealth is being considered.

★ Maharṣi Parāśara: Destruction of wealth.
★ Rṣi Bhṛgu: Loss of wealth.
★ Rṣi Garga: Wealthy however, a gambler.
★ Śrī Varāhamihira: Consumes bad food. Indirectly implies that the native may not be wealthy.
★ Śrī Kalyāṇavarmā: Penniless.
★ Śrī Prithuyasa: Troubled due to his expenses.
★ Śrī Bhaskaracarya: Acquires wealth but squanders it on pleasures; engages in speculation and gambling.
Please note that these are my personal interpretations:
Generally, Maṅgaḷa is not appreciated in the Dhana Bhāva because this is a neutral house that is better occupied by benefic planets. Maṅgaḷa placed here aspects the 5th and 9th houses as well, both of which are Lakṣmī Sthānas and connected with prosperity and fortune. Since the 8th house also gets afflicted, the person may suffer losses in stock market. Among all malefics, Kuja is considered the least desirable in the Dhana Sthāna.
Maṅgaḷa is friendly towards Naisargika Dhanakāraka Bṛhaspati, but inimical towards Naisargika Adhipati Śukra. Being the Kāraka of Śatru Sthāna, Maṅgaḷa in the 2nd house can produce debts, disputes, and destruction of wealth through enemies, litigation, or conflicts. Often, the wealth is spent on family disputes.
Maṅgaḷa is a Krūragraha dominated by Tamas Guṇa. Belonging to Agni Tattva, it signifies both construction and destruction, though its fiery nature is more often associated with damage and aggression. When such a malefic Kuja occupies the Dhana Bhāva, the wealth of the native may suffer destruction or depletion. This can occur through fire accidents, theft, enemies, quarrels, reckless actions, or association with deceitful and ignoble people. If Kuja is beneficial, the wealth will be gained from these sources.
