Jyotiṣavimarśa: Thoughts On Bhāva

नवम भाव प्राप्त भाग्य का सूचक है तथा द्वादश भाव व्यय और व्यक्ति से दूर होने वाली वस्तुओं का द्योतक है। कालपुरुष कुंडली में इन दोनों भावों का अधिपत्य बृहस्पति के अधीन है। बृहस्पति आकाश तत्त्व प्रधान ग्रह है। आकाश तत्त्व अन्य समस्त तत्त्वों को स्थान प्रदान करता है तथा उन्हें धारण करता है, परंतु स्वयं किसी से आवृत्त नहीं होता। आकाश तत्त्व की यहीं विशेषता है कि वह अन्य समस्त तत्त्वों को नियंत्रित करता है, परंतु अन्य तत्त्व उसे नियंत्रित नहीं कर सकते। इसी प्रकार प्राप्त होने वाला भाग्य तथा होने वाला त्याग भी मनुष्य के नियंत्रण में नहीं होते। जो प्राप्त होना है (दैव कृपा, गुरु कृपा आदि) वह किसी अदृष्ट विधान के अंतर्गत प्राप्त होता है, और जो व्यय होना है (मृत्यु आदि) वह भी किसी सूक्ष्म नियति के अनुसार होता है।

मनुष्य जन्म का एकमात्र साध्य परमतत्त्व का साक्षात्कार करना है। इस मार्ग पर अग्रसर होना केवल गुरु-कृपा से ही संभव है। जब गुरु की कृपा प्राप्त होती है, तब भवसागर को पार करने का सामर्थ्य प्राप्त होता है।

षष्ठ भाव काम, क्रोध आदि शत्रुरूप प्रवृत्तियों का सूचक है। सप्तम भाव संसार तथा सांसारिक जीवन का द्योतक है। अष्टम भाव उस विराट सागर के समान है, जिसे मनुष्य मानो रात्रि के अंधकार में पार कर रहा हो। यह रंध्र भाव है, अतः विविध कष्टों का अनुभव कराता है। उन कष्टों के उपरांत ज्ञानरूप नवम भाव की प्राप्ति होती है, जो अज्ञानरूपी अंधकार का नाशक तथा गुरु-तत्त्व का प्रतीक है।

जब नवम भाव के रूप में गुरु-कृपा प्राप्त होती है और मनुष्य गुरु-प्रदत्त उपदेश का अवलंबन करता है, तब उसके समस्त कार्य सिद्ध होते हैं। उसका मनुष्य जन्म सार्थक हो जाता है, जो दशम भाव से संकेतित है। तत्पश्चात समस्त वासनाएँ वासुदेव में लीन हो जाती हैं, जो लाभ भाव का तात्पर्य है। अंत में व्यय भाव के अनुसार निराकार, निर्गुण, निर्विकल्प तत्त्व का अनुभव होता है, जिसका वर्णन शब्दातीत है।

यह मेरा कल्पना-विलास है। यह शास्त्रसम्मत प्रतिपादन नहीं है, अपितु केवल शास्त्रोक्त भाव-कारकत्वों के आधार पर चिंतन करने का एक प्रयास है। यदि इसमें कोई त्रुटि हुई हो तो विद्वज्जन कृपया क्षमा करें।

English Translations:

The 9th house signifies fortune that is received, while the 12th house represents expenditure and things that move away from the individual. In the Kalapurusha Kundali, both these houses are ruled by Jupiter. Jupiter is predominantly associated with the element of space. The element of space accommodates and sustains all other elements, yet it is not enveloped by any of them. This is its unique nature, that it governs all other elements, while none can govern it. In the same way, both the fortune one receives and the losses or renunciations one undergoes are not within human control. What is to be gained, such as divine grace or the grace of the guru, comes under an unseen order, and what is to be lost, such as death, also unfolds according to a subtle destiny.

The sole purpose of human birth is the realization of the Supreme Reality. Progress on this path becomes possible only through the grace of the guru. When such grace is attained, one gains the ability to cross the ocean of worldly existence.

The sixth house indicates tendencies such as desire and anger, which act as inner enemies. The seventh house represents the world and worldly life. The eighth house is like a vast ocean that a person attempts to cross in the darkness of night. It is a house of hidden depths and brings various hardships. After undergoing these difficulties, one attains the ninth house, which represents knowledge, the destruction of ignorance, and the principle of the guru.

When the grace of the guru is obtained through the 9th house and one follows the teachings imparted by the guru, all actions find fulfillment. Human life then becomes meaningful, as indicated by the 10th house. Thereafter, all desires dissolve into Vasudeva, which is the significance of the 11th house. Finally, in accordance with the 12th house, one experiences the formless, attributeless, and non-dual reality, which lies beyond the reach of words.

This is an imaginative reflection. It is not a scripturally established doctrine, but an attempt to contemplate based on traditional significations of the houses. If there are any errors in this, I request the learned to kindly forgive them.
